EMGF Secretary General Osama Mobarez held a bilateral meeting with H.E. George Papanastasiou- Minister of Energy, Commerce & Industry for the first time after H.E. Papanastasiou assumed his new post on March 2023.

During the meeting, SG Mobarez acknowledged Cyprus remarkable contribution in leading many EMGF activities last year during the presidency of the forum.

In celebration of Europe day, the EMGF Secretary General Osama Mobarez, reaffirmed the East Mediterranean Gas Forum commitment to further strengthening the forum’s strategic partnership with the European Union.

During the celebration event that was hosted by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo, SG Mobarez participated in a panel titled “Working together to resolve the Energy crisis” alongside with Mr. Christian Berger- Ambassador of the EU delegation to Egypt and Mr. Mattia Campanati- General Manager, IEOC Egypt.

The EMGF Secretary General Osama Mobarez participated today in the Delphi Economic Forum taking place in the ancient city of Delphi in Greece.

The Delphi Economic Forum is an annual event that gathers top leaders from across sectors in an effort to spark dialogue, inspire change, and transform conversation into action.

2022 was a record year for energy transition investments, with a reported $1.3 trillion invested globally over this period. These increased investment levels are being driven by strong government policy toward low carbon investment and supported by an intense effort on the part of governments around the world to create the regulatory regimes and incentives for low carbon technologies to attract investment.

Combined with this, most energy and infrastructure companies and funds have now set their own bold net-zero commitments and revamped their strategies to prioritise energy transition investments. There has never been a stronger signal for clean energy project developers around the world to hunt for quality projects and bring them to the market.

President Nicos Anastasiades on Friday addressed the opening of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) Energy Transition Conference, noting that the conference being held in Cyprus underlines the collaborative relationship among its member countries.

Today, December 7, 2022, the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) took place in Cairo – The Arab Republic of Egypt – under the Presidency of H.E Natasa Pilides – Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus, as the President of the EMGF Ministerial Meeting for the year 2022.

On the 6th October, ARERA – the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks, and Environment – hosted in Rome the third meeting of the Regulatory Authority Advisory Committee (RAAC) in the framework of East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF).

Today, the Presidents and representatives of National Regulatory Authorities from the member countries of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, met in Athens for the 2nd Regulatory Authority Advisory Committee (RAAC) meeting. This was the first time that the Presidents and representatives of NRAs from the countries participating in the EMFG had the chance to meet also in person.
