During the visit, Mr. Mobarez briefed Mr. Mark Mitchell, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Middle East and Africa at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Global Markets, on the Forum’s core activities and highlighted its expanding role in fostering regional dialogue and strengthening energy security across the Eastern Mediterranean. The meeting featured an engaging exchange of perspectives on the evolving landscape of regional energy collaboration, alongside exploring strategic avenues for deeper partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce, specifically focusing on ways to facilitate private-sector engagement and investment opportunities.

Concluding the visit, the Secretary General expressed deep appreciation for the continued U.S. engagement with the EMGF, looking forward to building upon this strong partnership and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
