Alongside Ministers Stavros Papastavrou (Greece), Iva Petrova (Bulgaria), Michael Damianos (Cyprus), and Dorin Junghietu (Moldova), SG Osama Mobarez addressed the role of the region at a critical juncture for global energy security.
During the session, the Secretary General emphasized that the Eastern Mediterranean has evolved beyond potential to become an integral part of the solution to global energy challenges. SG Osama Mobarez further stressed that regional success is inherently collaborative, noting that no single nation can achieve energy hub status in isolation. True progress, he emphasized, requires deep integration and a shared, long-term vision among all partners.
On the sidelines of the event, SG Osama Mobarez held a productive meeting with Ms. Despoina Paliarouta, Secretary General for Energy and Mineral Resources of Greece and EMGF Executive Board Chair. The discussion centered on the Forum’s ongoing initiatives, strategic priorities, and future directions.
