The Secretary General of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), Osama Mobarez, participated in a high-level panel discussion titled “Turning Up the Heat: Gas in the Spotlight of the Energy Transition,” held as part of the event “Egypt’s Energy Horizon 2040: Balancing Growth, Security & Decarbonisation,” organized by the European Union Delegation to Egypt.
The panel brought together senior leaders from government and industry to exchange perspectives on the evolving role of natural gas in advancing energy security, supporting economic growth, and enabling realistic decarbonisation pathways.
In addition to Secretary General Mobarez, the panel featured Houda Ben Jannet Allal, Mahamed Abdel Hameed, Kyriakos Iordanou, Mohamed Abdelaziz, Clémence Vidal de la Blache, and Nicolas Katcharov.
Discussions underscored the importance of balanced energy strategies that ensure security of supply while advancing sustainability objectives, highlighting the need for coordinated regional and international cooperation in navigating the energy transition.
