Today, SG Osama Mobarez participated in Adipec 2024 as a speaker in a panel titled “Shaping the energy future: partnerships, policy and collaboration” alongside H.E. Joseph McMonigle, Secretary General, International Energy Forum and Erik Holmgren, U.S. Department of State - Bureau of Energy Resource.
The session tackled several key questions on how energy organizations can collaborate to remove barriers and accelerate the development and deployment of innovative technologies across global markets. It explored mechanisms and frameworks that could be established to foster cross-border collaborations, enabling the sharing of best practices and the effective scaling of innovations. The discussion also delved into the role international organizations can play in unlocking new sources of funding and financing for energy solutions.
Additionally, the session highlighted the importance of improving synergies between governments, the private sector, and international organizations, to create an environment that accelerates the exchange of ideas, technologies, and methodologies. Finally, it addressed the need to ensure a just and inclusive energy transition for all regions, ensuring no one is left behind in the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
