The EMGF in collaboration with the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center hosted a private workshop titled Energy trade and building economic connectivity in the Eastern Mediterranean, in Washington DC, with participants from governmental officials, think tanks, Ambassadors, and private sector.

The session witnessed welcoming and keynote remarks by Landon Derentz- Senior Director, Global Energy Center, and Helaina Matza- Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment US Department of State, during which they acknowledged the Forum’s commitment in unlocking the full potential of the East Med energy landscape, underscoring its significance in the geopolitical context.

During the discussions, Helaina Matza emphasized the need for the Renewables and the Hydrogen for the ES, despite the tough moments now in the region and SecGen Osama Mobarez reiterated the profound importance of the Forum in advancing decarbonization in the region.
