Joint Roundtable between EMGF & U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The EMGF in collaboration with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted a Roundtable and networking reception in Washington D.C. on the sideline of the 5th Southeast Europe & East Med Conference.

The Roundtable featured keynote remarks by SG. Osama Mobarez and welcoming & featured remarks by Steve Lutes- Vice President, Middle East Affairs at U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Brad Crabtree- Assistant Secretary U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), where they praised the Forum’s efforts in regional integration and its positive effect on the global energy landscape.

A/S Brad Crabtree highlighted the East Med Region efforts in the Climate action, praising the EMGF coordination role in the Region. Crabtree added the need for a certification mechanism for the Carbon Intensity in the Region highlighting the US/EU efforts in the MMRV initiative and its link with what the EMGF is currently doing.

The discussions focused on the unique & synergetic role the EMGF is playing in the East Med region between the governments and the private sector to ensure regional integration and sustainable East Med energy supplies.

“One of our main objectives is accelerating gas supplies in a more responsible and climate conscious manner, to provide a reliable source of low-cost low carbon gas supplies” said SG Mobarez
