Rehab Masoud is an accomplished Geoscientist with extensive experience in petroleum exploration, geological studies, and GIS-based analysis across Egypt’s major hydrocarbon provinces. I am recognized for my strong technical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and commitment to advancing energy and natural-resource projects through data-driven insight and strategic decision-making.
Rehab Masoud is an accomplished Geoscientist with a robust career spanning petroleum exploration, geological studies, and GIS-based spatial analysis across Egypt’s major energy basins. With over two decades of professional experience, I have played integral roles in national petroleum operations, exploration projects, and geological research initiatives. My core expertise includes petroleum system evaluation, geologic modeling, prospect generation, structural and tectonic analysis, basin studies, seismic interpretation, and well-site evaluation. At the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC)—where I have served since 2008 and currently holds the role of General Manager/Geoscientist—I lead comprehensive geological assessments across the Nile Delta, Gulf of Suez, Western Desert, and Eastern Desert. I manage bid rounds, oversees geological tendering processes, conducts dry-hole and prospect analyses, supervises drilling operations, and ensure regulatory and technical compliance for exploration activities. I also involve the integration of seismic, well, and GIS data to identify high-value exploration opportunities and guide strategic decision-making at the national level. Prior to EGPC, I worked as a Geoscientist at the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (Ex-EGSMA) from 2004 to 2008, where I contributed to GIS-based hazard studies, digital mapping projects, natural hazard assessments, drainage basin analysis, fossil studies, and international collaborations—including projects with ENPPI, UNESCO, and the University of Michigan. Earlier in my career, I gained hands-on petroleum exploration experience through roles with Lukoil Egypt/Eshpetco, APACHE/Khalda Petroleum Company JV, and PetroAmir, supporting fieldwork, data analysis, project coordination, and geological modeling. My academic background includes a B.Sc. in Special Geology from Cairo University, an MBA in Marketing from ESLSCA Paris, and ongoing pursuit of both a DBA in Marketing (ESLSCA Paris) and an MSc in Business Analytics (Edinburgh Business School–Heriot Watt). This combination of geoscience and business education enhances her ability to integrate technical insights with strategic, economic, and managerial perspectives. I am is proficient in Petrel, ArcGIS, POM, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, with strong competencies in decision-making, technical reporting, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and communication. My interests include squash and drawing, and I demonstrate community commitment through former involvement in the International Lions Club. I am also an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Sedimentological Society of Egypt. I am currently developing three book publications. My multicultural and multilingual background also enriches my academic perspective. Educated at Lycée in Egypt, I have a strong foundation in French language and culture. I hold the DELF B1 certification and I am currently completing B2.2 at the Institut Français d’Égypte (IFE). This international exposure complements my professional and academic journey and reflects my commitment to global engagement and continuous learning. I completed the Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates leadership program at the National Training Academy (2024). I also completed programs in Crisis Management, Strategic Management, and National Security in Nasser Higher Military Academy. I completed a preparation course in CMA from ESLSCA University. I completed several programs in ENNPI in Tenders and Procurement Management, Petroleum Economics, Geosciences Programs.
