Dr. Noha Mostafa is an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management in The British University in Egypt. She got her PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 2017, specialising in supply chain management. She also has a Diploma in Innovation and Change Management from Germany, 2023 and is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (LSSYB) Certified from Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, and is Fellow of Advance HE, UK. Dr. Noha has broad expertise including supply chain, operations management, lean manufacturing, sustainability, plant layout, design thinking, Industry 4.0/5.0, and energy management. She has published over 70 papers in international journals and conferences and has been granted several funded research projects worth 700K USD. She has been working in training and consultation for 15 years, and she is a National Consultant at UNIDO and a DAAD Expert. She has participated in events in more than 25 countries and was an invited speaker in several international events through which she has built a strong global network in academia and industry. She was an invited lecturer in several universities around the world including University of Lincoln, UK, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, University of Korea, South Korea, Asia Pacific University, Malaysia, and the historic University of Vienna, Austria. She was awarded ‘Outstanding faculty advisor award’ in 2018 and in 2020 from Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society, USA, ‘Faculty Council Excellence award for Community Service’ in 2023, She is recipient of ‘Prince Mohamed Bin Fahd Award for best Joint Research Project’ in 2024 and ‘Mohamed Farid Khamis (MFK) Award for Research Excellence’ in 2025. She is currently serving as Senator at the University Senate, Student Union Advisor, Global Ambassador of Sustainability, KSA, Mentor in Egypt Scholars, Inc, and Head of IEOM advisory board in Egypt. She is a professional member of The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and IEOM Society and was elected as Board Director of ‘IISE Engineering Economics Division’, IISE, USA for the term 2024-2026. She is a British Council Certified Counsellor, providing expert guidance on studying abroad, helping students navigate university applications, scholarships, and career pathways. Dr. Noha is active in community activities, giving special interest in women empowerment, health awareness, climate causes, and education reform. She is a Rotarian since 2023 and has participated in COP27, COP28, and COP29 official simulations. She has diverse interests including traveling, reading, movies, music, history, art, and hiking. She believes that it is necessary to have artistic, cultural, and political interests that complement the character of a human being, even if his or her work is scientific like her career of engineering.
