9th EMGF High Level Working Group Meeting – February 15th, 2021

The 9th EMGF High Level Working Group (HLWG) meeting was virtually held on the 15th February 2021 via the online video conference, as a part of the precautionary measures taken to contain the COVID 19 pandemic.
The meeting was led by Egypt and was virtually attended by the EMGF High Level Working Group (HLWG) Representatives from the Governments of Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, and Palestine.
The meeting discussed the status of the EMGF Statute ratification in the EMGF Member Countries, and it was concluded that the EMGF Statute will enter into force by 1st of March 2021.
The meeting also discussed the status of the EMGF Headquarters Agreement and the conclusions of the several virtual meetings held between the EMGF Member Countries Representatives, in which they discussed the proposed draft of the forum’s Headquarters Agreement and arranged to present the outcomes of these discussion in the next EMGF Ministerial Meeting for a final approval.
The meeting also went through the official requests received from the New Members/Observers willing to join the EMGF, which will be subsequently discussed in the next EMGF Ministerial Meeting.
The meeting presented the situation of the forum’s grants and expenses, as a starting point to start drafting the Forum’s budget.
The meeting also discussed the proposed date and agenda for the next EMGF Ministerial Meeting.
