The 6^th EMGF High Level Working Group (HLWG) meeting was virtually held on the 19^th of May 2020 via the online video conference, as a part of the precautionary measures taken to contain the COVID 19 pandemic.

The meeting was led by Egypt and was virtually attended by the EMGF High Level Working Group (HLWG) Representatives from the Governments of Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, and Palestine, in addition to guest participants from the European Union and the World Bank.

The meeting discussed some design proposals for the forum’s official logo, as well as some updates regarding the Gas Industry Advisory Committee (GIAC) in which the international focus that the GIAC has grabbed during the past short period was highlighted, and was also reflected in the numerous new expressions of interest received at the EMGF current secretariat.

The meeting also discussed the proposed dates for the next EMGF Ministerial Meeting for the signing of the EMGF Statute, and the signing mechanism taking into consideration the travel restrictions and precautionary measures taken to contain the COVID 19 pandemic.
